The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it's alarmed about the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office committed to service the area regularly. The services position designed for intervention activities a significant inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service sassa status point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to enable the servicing of all customers and increase status sassa usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
